Job Summary : 
The Accounting Associate will be responsible for performing technical and administrative work to support Atlantic Sapphire’s Finance Department. The individual performs invoice reconciliation and accounts payable functions to support the Finance team.
 
Job Description : 
Core areas of responsibility are:
·       Performs accounts payable accounting function including receiving and matching invoices, account coding, preparation of disbursements, and accounts payable-related record keeping

·       Performs accounts receivable functions including processing of invoices, collection of invoices, and record keeping
·       Post cash transactions
·       Provide daily cash balance to the Director and CFO
·       Preform weekly cash reconciliation.
·       Ad-Hoc reporting and support to AP/ AR Supervisor
·       Performs other accounting duties as requested by the Controller
·       Staff Accountant, Prepare and review journal entries, support external audit requests, participate in process improvement initiatives
·       Maintain complete confidentiality
·       Collaborating with members across the Finance Team and organization to ensure smooth monthly and periodic financial statement close, along with other ad-hoc requests.
·       To actively support and collaborate with the Finance Team and all other individuals and teams across the organization.
 
Skills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong financial and accounting analytical skills with thorough knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and financial statement preparation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan, prioritize, and efficiently multitask while consistently adhering to deadlines towards results-driven goals on a timely basis to quality standards.
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members 
  • Ability to work in complex multi-tasking environments
  • Constant desire to learn and grow
Work Environment
This job operates in a combined office and farm/production and construction environment.

Schedule
·       Monday through Friday standard business hours at the Bluehouse.
